Howdy all!
So I told you a couple of weeks ago how I needed to remove the first two books of the Prophecy of the Dragons from Smashwords (and their affiliates) because they were not yet done in the KDP Select run (free to download for Kindle Unlimited members). While I waited, I discovered I get more readers through the KDP Select program than Smashwords or the affiliates, so I decided to re-up Dragon Guard and Dragon Dreams to the program and unpublish books 3 and 4 (Dragon Magic and Dragon Hex) from Smashwords. I will give them a day or two to be removed from the affiliates, and then I will add those to the KDP Select program, too, so Kindle Unlimited readers will be able to read the entire series for free (not counting their monthly fee, of course!).
For any inconvenience this causes non-Kindle customers, I apologize, but for me, this makes more sense. If you don't have a Kindle, remember you can always download the free Kindle app on your phone, tablet, or desktop/laptop. (Check your appstore!) That'll allow you to purchase any book that is only available on Amazon (like mine!), but also take advantage when authors list their books for free. I don't have a timeline yet, but I will be putting my books up for free on various weeks in the not-too-distant future. I will, of course, let you know right here and on Twitter when I plan to do this.
Two more things. One, in addition to removing the Prophecy of the Dragon series from Smashwords, I also unpublished my lone remaining standalone title on there, Ghost Betweens. That will also be added to the KDP Select program in the next day or two. Two, plotting and outlining for Dragon Crystal, the 5th book in the Prophecy of the Dragons series, has been completed, and I'm starting the 1st draft tonight. My goal is to complete it by mid-July, so with revisions, we're probably looking at a late-August, but much more likely September, release. Again, I'll have much more information available later. I will post short updates on how the 1st draft process is going on my Twitter account for anyone interested.
That's all I have for you today! Thanks for reading!
